When you create a blog post and publish it on your blog, your job is not done. You need to generate traffic to that post and your site. One way to do this is to find places where you can promote your content. As an online entrepreneur and blogger, you need to find as many ways as possible to promote your content. This article will outline nine ways of free content promotion.
Content Promotion #1 – Twitter
Twitter is a great place to promote your content. You tweet a link to your blog post and include relevant hashtags. You should also include a picture in your tweet. I use the picture that was included in my blog post.
Content Promotion #2 – Facebook Business Page
If you have a business, you need to have a Facebook Business page. The graphics should be consistent with the header on your blog. Share your blog post on your business page. Make sure the picture shows up in the post.
Content Promotion #3 – Facebook Profile
Once you share your blog post on your business page, share the post on your personal profile from your business page. I know some people have an issue with sharing business related items on their page, but the fact that you have a business should not be a secret.
Content Promotion #4 – Google+
If you have a gmail email account, then you have a Google+ page. If you have not set it up, do so now. It is free. You can also share your blog posts on Google+.
Content Promotion #5 – LinkedIn
You can find great prospects and colleagues on LinkedIn. You can share your article, images or video in your LinkedIn feed. Just paste the link to your blog post and make sure that the picture associated with your blog post shows up.
Content Promotion #6 – LinkedIn Stories
Did you know that you can actually post your entire blog post on LinkedIn? To do this, on your feed, select the write an article link. A new window will open where you can post a picture, add your title and copy your post. Once you are finished, you publish your blog post. You also add hashtags to your article.
Content Promotion #7 – Medium
According to Wikipedia, Medium is “an online publishing platform that is a hybrid collection of amateur and professional people and publications. It is regarded as a blog host.” I use Medium.com to host my blog posts. There is a free version and a paid version. I recommend that you start with the free version.
Content Promotion #8 – Email Marketing
One of the first things you should do when you start an online business, is to start building a list. You need to use an autoresponder such as Aweber. Once you have a list, send out a message to your list to let them know about your blog post.
Content Promotion #9 – Pinterest
Lastly, you can use Pinterest to promote your blog post. You can create a Blog Post board or boards about specific niches. Make sure you have a great picture associated with your blog post.
