Last night was the first of the Presidential Debates for the election. Our country has a lot of challenges in front of us that we need to overcome from the economy, jobs, housing to healthcare. As I listened to the debate, it became very clear that I need to become more focused and driven to make my Internet Marketing business my primary source of income.
It is pretty scary times right now to be dependent on a job where you have no control of your destiny. I am still working full-time where I am dependent on my company winning government contracts. I have already started working on my Plan B, but I must accelerate my plan. If you believe that you can depend on your corporate job to take care of you, you must read my Plan B blog post. It contains many statistics regarding unemployment, Social Security, Medicare and 401Ks.
Based on my observations, I believe that Internet Marketing can provide a viable alternative to my corporate job. I have observed many internet marketers over the last few years that put in the work and are able to support themselves without a traditional job. It is a little uncomfortable making the shift due to the “perceived” security of a full time job with benefits. At some point, you need to follow your passion and find a way to make a living at what makes you happy and fulfilled.
I have made a promise to myself to work on my business every day of October. By work, I do not mean watching a bunch of webinars and teleseminars, surfing the internet or reading my email. It is just a start, but who knows? This type of consistency may be just what I need to get to the next level. What do you plan to do propel your business forward?
